OFF CAMPUS INSTRUCTIONS:

Steps for Students to Initiate a Dell Warranty Claim When Off Campus

1. Please click the following link that will take you to the Dell Warranty Home page and type in your Service Tag for the computer: Dell Warranty Home page.

  • Need help locating your service tag?  See below for assistance.

2. Once you have entered your service tag for your computer, you may be presented to the support services details page.  This page will give you extended information about your computer and your warranty status and what your warranty can cover.  Once you are ready to submit a claim, select the option that says Contact Technical Support.  It should be listed on the right-hand side of the page next to the column named Your System at a glance:

3. Select the issue from the dropdown box on this page asking what is wrong with your laptop?  Options range from Video Display Issues to Power Startup errors, etc.  Once you have selected your option, please proceed by selecting the next button.

4. From this step, you have several options on how you would like to proceed with the warranty service:

  • You may start a virtual chat with a Dell Tech and can help complete your warranty service via service chat.

  • You may contact Dell via phone at 1-866-516-3115.  Please note that this page should show the Express Service Code.  It should be a ten (10) digit code that is associated with your system and should be below the Dell contact number and this express code will be needed once the Dell rep asks for the express code to verify your system.

5. If you require further assistance, please contact the Eagle Technical Center at 919-530-5038
