If you are working with a large Microsoft Excel file with a lot of columns, it may be helpful to activate auto format inside Excel that will allow you to automatically resize all of the columns at the same time.

  1. Open Excel and click on the File button
  2. On the menu that appears to the left, click the Options button:
  3. This will take you to the Options menu. Select the Quick Access Toolbar option:
  4. Select “All Commands” under “Choose commands from:”, then select Auto Format and click the Add button.
  5. Auto Format will appear in the list as shown below:                                                                                                     
  6. Click on OK, the auto format iconwill show on the Quick Access toolbar to the right of theSave icon.
  7. Click the icon on the Excel Quick Access toolbar for Auto format examples. See below.
