How to Scan Documents Using your Mobile Phone

Please Note: This article explains how to scan documents on iOS 13 and higher and Android 11 and higher.

Scan Documents with iPhone

1. Open the Notes app and Create a new note.

2. Next, Tap the New Note icon.

3. Tap the Camera icon and select Scan Documents.

 

Please Note: Position the phone camera over the document. Notes automatically focuses and captures an image, but you also can do it manually by tapping the shutter button.

4. After you Scan a page, drag the handles to crop the scan. Tap Keep Scan to continue.

5. To Scan the document again, select Retake.

 

Please Note: Repeat this process for all the pages you want to scan. 

6. When you're finished, select Save.

 

 

Scan Documents with Android Phone

1. Open the Google Drive app and select the + symbol.

2. Under the Create New tab, select Scan.

3. Position the phone camera over the document and Tap the shutter button when you're ready to capture the image. Then select Ok.

4. To Save the finished document, tap Save or Retake to capture another image.

 

 

Scan Documents Using Mobile Apps

Another way to scan a document with your smartphone is by downloading a separate mobile app to your device. Below are a few recommended apps for document scanning from a smart phone. The apps below are free and downloadable in your Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
