How To: Zip Files

Zipped files save storage space and increase the efficiency of your computer. It's also an effective way to improve file transfers with email. You're able to send emails faster with smaller files.

Overview

Zipped (compressed) files take up less storage space and can be transferred to other computers more quickly than uncompressed files. 

 

Steps to a Zip File

1. Locate the file or folder that you want to zip.

2. Right-click the file or folder, select Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.

 

3. A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location.
