How to Register your Wireless Devices

Summary

To register a wireless device into the myDevice portal, follow the step-by-step instructions provided. Once registered, their device will automatically connect to NCCU-GUEST whenever it is in range.

Body

End users can connect their entertainment device or game console to the NCCU Network.

You may register up to 4 devices in the myDevice portal.

NOTE: MAC addresses contain the letters A-F and you must include colons [:] (no hyphens) when registering your device.
IMPORTANT: The following steps must be completed using a laptop or mobile device that is already connected to NCCU's internet via wired connection or wireless (EAGLE SOAR).

1. Locate your device's MAC address.

2. Go to https://mydevice.nccu.edu/ while connected to the NCCU wired or wireless network (EAGLE SOAR)

3. Log in with your NCCU username (without the "@eagles.nccu.edu or @ad.nccu.edu") and password.

4. Read and accept the "Acceptable Use Policy." You must scroll to the bottom before selecting "Accept."

5. Click “Soar!

6. Under "Manage Devices," select “Add”

7. Enter your device information, the "Description" field is optional.

Important: Do not use special characters in the "Device Name" or "Description" fields, because the device will not properly register. If you use special characters, you will receive an "Error Loading Page" message in red.

8. Select "Submit" to finish registering your device.

Note: After registering your device, it will be ready to connect immediately despite the status listed as "pending."

9. Once the device is registered, open the device network setting and select the “NCCU-GUEST" wireless network. The device will remain registered for 1 year.

NOTE: If you would like to remove a device, simply check the box beside the device you would like and select “Delete”.
