Banner 9 Faculty/Advisor Self-Service - Search for Student

Summary

The Search for Student feature in Banner 9 allows faculty and advisors to view key student records such as Student Bio, General Information, Academic Transcripts, and more—based on their access level. To view academic transcripts, Advisor access is required. If access is missing, contact Joyce Kovalik at the Registrar's Office (919-530-5131).

The Search for Student feature in Banner 9 lets faculty and advisors view important student records in one place. Depending on your role and access level, you may be able to see information such as:

  • Student Bio
  • General Information
  • Academic Transcript
  • Application to Graduate
  • And more

How to Access Search for Student

  1. Log in to myEOL
  2. Go to Administrative & Academic Services and click Banner 9
  3. Open Faculty/Advisor Self-Service
  4. Underneath Faculty or Advisor Links, click on Search for Student 

How to Access Student Academic Transcripts

To view a student's academic transcript, you must have Advisor access.

If you don’t see the option or think you're missing access, please contact Joyce Kovalik at the Registrar's Office for assistance: 919-530-5131 (ext. 5131) 

Make sure to provide the following to Joyce Kovalik:

  • Your full name
  • Your Banner ID (820#)
  • The term and access type you're missing (e.g., Advisor access for Fall 2025)

Steps to View a Transcript:

  1. Click Search for Student
    • You’ll find this under Faculty Links or Advisor Links, depending on your role.
  2. Enter the required information:
    • Term
    • Student ID (820#) or Student Name
  3. Click Submit
  4. When you see the student’s name and 820# in the results, click on the name or ID to open their profile.
  5. In the student’s profile:
    • On the left side, under the gray student photo, click View Student Academic Transcript
  6. Use the dropdown menus to select:
    • Transcript Level (e.g., Undergraduate, Graduate)
    • Transcript Type – choose Unofficial
  7. Click Submit to view the transcript.
