This article will show you how to send a push notification using the Modo App Center.
Critical Recommendation:
- Since we do not currently have the premium license, messages show the creation date/time in the user's app. To avoid confusion, create the message as close to the actual send time as possible.
Step-By-Step:
- Log in to the Modo App Center
- Click on "Communicate" listed below the North Carolina Central University Application. (See Photo)

- Click the "PUBLIC CHANNELS" dropdown menu on the left side navigation.
- Click on the "Announcements" link.

- Click the green " Create Message " button in the upper right.
- Fill out the form with the appropriate content.
- Title (Keep to 25 characters or less)
- Body (No character limit. Don't use #)
- Link Title (If applicable)
- Link URL (If applicable)
- Click dropdown
- Choose the module to link to
- If linking to an external site, click on the blank box above "No Link" in the dropdown.
- Type in external link. (http://www.example.com)
- Add Image (If applicable)
- Choose Target Audience
- Public (Sends to everyone)
- Students
- Faculty & Staff
- Choose a "Notify via"
- Push Notification (Most common. Will push to everyone's device instantly)
- In-app banner (Will show next time users open the app)
- Choose an "End at" time. (This is when the message will disappear from the message center)
- Click the green " Save " button
- You will be brought to the draft page of your notification
- Review the message and settings.
- Click the green " Send "
