The Financial Aid section in Banner 9 Student Self-Service allows students to view and manage their financial aid information in one convenient location. This includes award offers, requirements, academic progress, and disbursement details. The interface is user-friendly and designed to help students understand their financial aid status and what actions may be required.

To access the Financial Aid section:

  1. Log in to Student Self-Service
  2. Navigate to the Student Profile
  3. Click on Financial Aid

Financial Aid in Banner 9 Student Self-Service

The Financial Aid section in Banner 9 Student Self-Service is designed to help you view and manage your financial aid in a clear and organized way. It provides access to important information about your aid offers, requirements, academic progress, and more—all in one place.

This section includes seven main pages (tabs), each providing specific details:

  • Home – A summary of your financial aid status and important messages
  • Offer –  Details of your financial aid awards, including grants, scholarships, and loans, with options to accept or decline the offers.
  • Financial Aid History – A record of financial aid received in past academic years
  • Resources – Details about any additional resources or external aid
  • Notifications – Important alerts or messages related to your financial aid
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) – Your current SAP status and how it affects your aid eligibility
  • College Financing Plan – A standardized overview of your costs and financial aid

Banner Financial Aid Self-Service also includes interactive features and formatted content using standard web styling (HTML). This helps ensure that messages, instructions, and details appear clearly across the various pages.

Aid Year

To view your financial aid information for a specific academic year, use the Aid Year drop-down menu. This allows you to filter and display the relevant details for the selected year.

The term Aid Year is used consistently throughout Banner Financial Aid Self-Service. Once you select an Aid Year, it will remain the same as you navigate through different pages in the portal.

Accept or Decline Financial Aid Offers

The Offer page provides detailed information about the financial aid funds offered to the student, including the option to accept or decline awards.

What You’ll See on the Offer Page

The Offer page shows your financial aid awards for the selected aid year. Awards are grouped by term and organized into these categories:

  • Grants and Scholarships
  • Work-Study
  • Loans

You’ll also see important details such as:

  • Your Expected Enrollment Status
  • Your Housing Status
  • Your Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
  • The Cost of Attendance
  • Grants and Scholarships that help cover your costs
  • Your Net Cost (what you may need to pay after aid is applied)
  • Loan options to help cover any remaining balance

You will also have the option to accept or decline your financial aid offers and submit your decision through this page.

Financial Aid History

The Financial Aid History page provides a summary of your past financial aid awards. This page is read-only, meaning you can view your information but not make changes.

By default, the page displays an All Years view, showing a consolidated summary of your financial aid history. You can also filter the information by Aid Year to view specific award details.

The page is divided into two main sections:

  • Grants and Scholarships – A record of any grants or scholarships you’ve received

  • Work – Information on any work-study or employment-based aid

If no award history is available for your account, you will see the following message:
"There is no award history available. Please contact your financial aid officer."

Resources

The Resources page displays your submitted responses to financial aid-related questions and any Terms and Conditions you may need to review or have already accepted.

Students can view the status of their response for each question they have provided. The statuses of answered questions are shown as one of the following:

  • NOT YET REVIEWED
  • REVIEWED
  • PENDING REVIEW  

If no information is available, you will see the message:
"No Responses to Questions or Terms and Conditions are found."

Notifications

The Notification page displays important information related to your financial aid, including:

  • Webtext
  • Active Messages
  • Withdrawal Information
  • Financial Aid to be Returned

If there is no information available for a particular aid year, the following message will appear:
"No Messages or Withdrawal information is found."

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

The Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) page is a read-only section that shows your academic progress for a specific term. It provides information about whether you are meeting the required standards for financial aid eligibility.

College Financing Plan

The College Financing Plan page provides a standardized view of your Cost of Attendance and awarded financial aid in an easy-to-read HTML format.

This plan is designed by the U.S. Department of Education to help students and families compare financial aid offers from different colleges and universities in a consistent format, regardless of the institution.

Key points to know:

  • The information is always displayed in English (enUS), even if your language settings are different.
  • You can still access the College Financing Plan even if access to other award details is currently restricted.
  • The plan updates based on the selected aid year, so make sure to choose the correct year to view the relevant information.
