How To: Add a Recurring Event in Google Calendar

Recurring events in Google Calendar help you schedule meetings, reminders, or activities that happen regularly—daily, weekly, monthly, or on a custom schedule. Follow the steps below to create a recurring event.

Note: Google Calendar does not currently support randomly repeating events—it only allows structured recurrence patterns like:
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly
  • Every n days/weeks/months
  • On specific days of the week
  • Until a set end date or number of occurrences
  1. Open your Google Calendar and choose the event you want to edit.

  2. Click on the pencil icon to edit the event.

  3. Choose ‘More options’ and go for ‘Doesn’t repeat’.

  4. Click the drop down list and press ‘Custom’.

  5. You can choose how you want the event to recur or repeat.
