Steps to Adding Unfamiliar Words to Custom Dictionaries

Overview:

This article's purpose is to help add words to the Outlook Custom Dictionary. This helps to ensure the auto correct feature recognizes unfamiliar words and names that are not commonly found.

Resolution

  1. Click on the File tab and select Options

  1. Select Mail, then click on the Spelling and AutoCorrect button

  1. From here you will select you will need to make sure you’re in the Proofing option on the left task bar. Then select Custom Dictionaries

  1. Once the Custom Dictionaries dialog box opens. You will need to make sure all the dictionaries are checked the select Edit Word List

  1. Here you can add “New” words in the box and then click Add. Once finished adding the new words, select OK to make the changes.
