NCCU’s travel loaner program offers laptops for short-term loan to faculty and staff when traveling on University business.
These devices are WiFi only, and do not have cellular data plans.
All devices come with a power adapter and international outlet adapter (if traveling internationally).

NCCU loaner laptops for faculty and staff traveling for NCCU programs or business. These devices are WiFi only, and do not have cellular data plans.
Features include:
- 13” Dell Latitude 7390 2:1 laptop, and international power adapters
- There is no fee for this service, but if a laptop is damaged, lost, stolen, or missing items, its cost will be charged to the requestor's department
- Preloaded with standard NCCU laptop configuration, including:
- Windows 10
- Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client
- Absolute Resilience Security Software
- Cisco Jabber and WebEx
- MS Office 2016
- VMware Horizon client (Eagle Apps)
- Full hard disk encryption and antivirus
- Carrying case
- All devices come with a power adapter and international outlet adapter (if traveling internationally).
NOTE: All requests must be submitted 5 calendar days in advance of your required pick-up date.
The pickup date should be not later than 1 day prior to travel and picked up no later than 3:00 pm.
If you are unable to return the device on the scheduled date and time, please notify the Help Desk as soon as possible (919.530.7676).
It is your responsibility to understand the risks associated with international travel and mobile devices. Please refer to the Information Security Office’s web page regarding international travel guidelines.
Requirements
- Complete the Travel Laptop Loaner request form at helpdesk.nccu.edu or contact Eagle Technical Assistance Center (ETAC) at 919.530.7676 least 5 business days in advance of the travel date.
- Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Every attempt will be made to stock sufficient laptops to meet demand.
- Be advised that international travel can pose additional challenges for using technology. Access to social media, email, and other websites may be blocked or limited, and some countries ban encrypted devices, although many recognize the Wassenaar Arrangement and grant exceptions for “personal use.”
Get Started
To request a loaner laptop for travel:
- Complete the Travel Laptop Loaner request form at least 5 business days in advance of the travel date.
- A request confirmation email will be sent.
- ETAC staff will meet the requestor at the scheduled pick-up appointment time to retrieve all equipment. If necessary, the pick-up appointment time can be changed by contacting ETAC.
