Launching Cisco Jabber

Jabber software should already come pre-loaded on your desktop and laptop. If not, please contact the Help Desk at 919-530-7676 for assistance.

Note: For initial Jabber access, please submit a Jabber service request for a device profile to be programmed. You may submit the request using the following link: https://nccu.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1852/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=14262

  1. Search for Cisco Jabber on your computer.
  2. Login with your Full NCCU email address – Remove AD, if in the example.
  3. Tap continue.
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Tap Login.
  6. Accept all certificates when prompted and apply. All are valid- need to activate.
    • If you do not accept all certificates jabber will not come up.
  7. Cisco Jabber will open.

Important: If your Cisco Jabber application is experiencing issues, a reset of Cisco Jabber application may be needed. Follow these steps to reset Cisco Jabber:
  • Sign out and select Reset Jabber option or select the Settings gear  (top right corner - File-Reset).
  • Sign in with your full email address – Remove AD, if in the example.
  • Enter your password.
  • Accept all certificates when prompted and apply. All are valid- need to activate.
    • If you do not accept all certificates jabber will not come up.

Send and Receive Messages

Send a message to a person—Enter the name in the search bar and select the person from the list of contacts.

You can change the fonts and color, send a screen capture, send a file, mention a user, or add an emoticon to your message.

Call and Schedule a Meeting

You can call and meet others using Cisco Jabber, right from your Cisco Jabber app. It’s easy to create meeting spaces if you want to talk or meet with several people. Simply, select the contacts you want to add to your meeting, right-click and select Start meeting.
