Faculty Self-Service (SSB 9): Tracking Attendance

  1. Log into myEOL using your username and password.
  2. Under "Administrative & Academic Services," click the Banner SSB 9 button and select "Faculty Self-Service" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Under the Faculty Services main menu, click on "Attendance Tracking."
  4. You will then see the "Attendance Tracking â€“ Course List" page.
  5. Click on "View Students" to see the students enrolled in your class.
  6. You will then see a listing of the students enrolled in your class.
  7. To take roll, click on the "Take Roll" button from the "My Courses" page.

Entering Student Attendance and Absences

  1. Individual Student Attendance: On the page where individual students are listed, you will see specific dates.
  2. Click the circle once for "Present." You will then see a checkmark. Click the circle twice for "Absent." You will then see a minus sign.
  3. To update all attendance records for the selected date, click "Update All" and, from the drop-down list, select one of the following: "Update Empty Records to Present," "Update Empty Records to Absent," "Mark All Present" or "Mark All Absent."
  4. Once attendance is completed, click on "Class," and from the drop-down menu, click on "Update CRN Last Date of Attendance." This will update the last date of attendance in Banner, and the Scholarship and Student Aid Office will now be able to access the attendance of the students.
  5. To complete attendance for another class, click "Course List" to return to the list of courses to continue recording attendance for a different class. Attendance information is recorded and saved automatically to students’ records.
  6. If a student notified you of their intended absence, click the "Absence Notified" checkbox. If a student has an extended absence, click the "Extended Absence" button.
