Outlook Report Phishing Button
What is the Report Phishing button?
NCCU IT Services has introduced a crucial tool, the "Report Phishing" button, in Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook on the web. This feature is not just a new addition, but a significant step in enhancing email security and safeguarding your data. It allows you to directly report suspicious emails, contributing to the university's protection efforts and refining Microsoft's filtering technology to better detect spam and potential threats before they reach your inbox.
What happens when I use the Report Phishing button?
By using the Report Phishing button, you not only help identify and block potential threats but also contribute to improving our email protection system. When you forward a suspicious email to ITS using this button, you enable us to determine if the email is malicious. If it is, our system will adapt, enhancing its filtering capabilities to proactively recognize and block similar types of phishing attempts in the future.
Where can I find the Report Phishing button?
From your inbox, select an email message you know or suspect is phishing, and you want to report to Microsoft.
Then, from the Outlook Home ribbon, select Report Phishing see your options:
Windows Operating System(Dell)
Note: If you do not see the Report Phishing button, you may need to expand the ribbon and select Use Classic Ribbon. This will change your ribbon view and display more features.
