Disabling Private Wi-Fi Addresses for iOS and MacOS Devices

Overview

The following article will provide guidance on configuring iOS and macOS devices to use private Wi-Fi addresses.

Apple has introduced two features in iOS and macOS that can cause connection issues within enterprise networks, including our EAGLE-SOAR network.

These two settings are:

  •  Private Wi-Fi Address (iOS only)
  •  Limit IP Address Tracking

Disabling these two settings will allow your iOS or macOS device to connect to campus networks more consistently and the connection should remain more stable.

Important Note:  To ensure optimal connectivity, all mobile devices being connected to EAGLE-SOAR should remove/forget any other NCCU campus Wi-Fi networks from their saved connections. Specifically, please delete/forget the following networks from your device settings before proceeding:

  • EAGLES
  • NCCU-GUEST
  • EAGLE-GUEST
