Office 365 Email Encryption Steps

When you need to protect the privacy of an email message, encrypt it. Encrypting an email message in Outlook means it's converted from readable plain text into scrambled cipher text. Only the recipient who has the private key that matches the public key used to encrypt the message can decipher the message for reading.

Office 365 Email Encryption Steps:

1. On your web browser, type Office.nccu.edu and click enter.

2. Select Outlook app.

3. Next, create a New Message.

4. Complete the "To," Add a Subject"  fields including the body contents.

5. Next, select "Encrypt" from the top panel.

NOTE: You have additional options under “Change Permissions” to choose how recipients can interact with the message.

6. By selecting the paperclip image, you can add attachments to browse the computer, or by dragging and dropping the attachment into the body of the message.

7. Click "Send" and you're done!
