What is Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)? 

SSPR is a solution that can be used when you have forgotten your password or would like to change your password. This allows you to change your password on your own without having to call a helpdesk.

 

How do I enroll in Self-Service Password Reset(SSPR)?

Staff, Faculty and Students can enroll by accessing myaccount.microsoft.com and updating Security Info with their verification methods.

 

How do I reset my password? 

Visit password.nccu.edu and verify who you are by entering your information and authenticating your verification methods setup previously. 

 

Can I reset my password 24/7? 

Yes, with self-service password reset you are able to reset your password as needed and when needed, no matter the time of day or night. 

 

Where can I change my password? 

 

When do I need to change my password? 

Password policies are set by the IT department and require that your password be changed every 180 days. However, if you feel that your password has been exposed, it is recommended you change your password via password reset. 

 

What makes for good password?

It is highly recommended that you should select a password that is both easy for you to remember, and difficult for others to guess. Depending on the password criteria set by your administrator, it should include lower-case and upper-case letters, numbers, and at least one special character. 

 

What is Single Sign-on (SSO)? 

SSO allows you to log in once and gain access to multiple applications. This will not only make your life easier by allowing you to jump between applications without having to log in to each application, but it will make your accounts more secure too.   

 

What is Two-factor Authentication (2FA)? 

2FA is a security measure that protects your user account from being broken into. This requires you to enter your user name and password, but goes a step further by requiring you to enter a onetime password supplied by your selected 2FA delivery method.
